1/48 Blohm & Voss Nurflügel-TL-Jäger Ae. 607
The Blohm & Voss Nurflügel never received a Project number. Originally called Bv Ae. 607, it was a single-seat tailess aircraft with asymmetrically positioned cockpit, swept wigs, canard stabilizers, and a small fin. The canards could help the aircraft due its strong swept- back configuration. The undercarriage was very particular, with two main wheels and two tail wheels. According with the original drawing, this suggests the main landing gear retracting the leg into each wing, allocating the wheel close to the wing root. The same procedure would be applied to the tail wheel configuration, allocating each wheel (once retracted) on the fuselage sides, close to the wing trailing edge. Propulsion was provided by the HeS 011 A engine, and the armament consisted of three 30 mm MK 108 cannon in forward fuselage. Drawings of this aircraft first surfaced in the 1960´s, and the authenticity of the Nurflügel-TL- Jäger has been questioned by years, but there are no doubts it was an entirely genuine wartime design. |
